Crime
The Town of Bay Harbor Islands has one of the lowest crime rates
in Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida.
Police
Services
General Policing:
The Department provides a high level of police visibility, safety,
and security. Service calls are answered quickly, usually in less
than two minutes, and efficiently, because of the high concentration
of police in a small geographical area (.9 square miles).
Watch
Orders:
Vacation security checks are provided upon request for residents
and businesses.
Fingerprints and Community Identification:
Residents and the Town's business community may be fingerprinted
or obtain a photo identification card by appointment. Finger print
cards must be provided by the person requesting to be fingerprinted.
Emergency Medical Services:
Bay Harbor Islands police officers respond to medical emergencies
along with the EMT's of the Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Service.
Police Officers are trained as first responders and are equipped
with first aid supplies including oxygen and automated electronic
defibrillators.
